John Melas is a multi-instrumentalist/singer/songwriter.

Singing and performing from his formatives years, he ultimately focused on bass guitar, 8-string touch guitar and upright bass/cello. The latter two instruments are hybrids of bass that assume the roles of piano, guitar, upright bass and cello interchangeably.

Being brought up in a family of musicians, John was exposed to a plethora of music and instruments both in western and eastern palettes broadening his musical influences.

Studying Fine Arts at Concordia University, John’s multi-media and film background can be discerned in his compositional style.

Adept at producing and arranging rock, orchestral, ambient and ethnic sounds, John delivers a meticulously weaved soundscape fusing a multitude of genres.
